By collaborating with fellow animal advocates at PALS, ALERT, The Salvation Army, Nicola Valley Food Bank, Okanagan Humane Society, The Equality Project, and many others, we've managed to distribute an extra 20,000 pounds of food throughout our beautiful province.

While our primary goal is to keep pets in the Okanagan well-fed, our hearts (and paws) are always wide open to assisting animals across BC. So, let's give a big, cheerful "apaws" to everyone who has contributed to making these accomplishments possible!

After all, every pet—big or small—deserves to feel the love they shower on their humans daily! *If your 30-day request window falls between December 15th and December 31st, please make sure to place those orders by December 15th—this is a special holiday exception!*
*For requests scheduled from January 1st to January 15th, you can place your orders after we reopen on January 15th.*

*Please be aware: We can only fulfill requests for pets with specific dietary needs or specialty items (such as urinary food) based on our available inventory.

IMPORTANT: **Requests will not be processed from December 16th to January 15th. Emails will not be monitored daily**

Every contribution plays a vital role in addressing the growing demand for our services. Guests can also support our cause by donating food, toys, treats, coats, and more!

Since April 2023, The Lend A Paw Pet Food Foundation has been committed to assisting our furry companions in the Okanagan who are facing food shortages. Our mission is to help pet owners retain their beloved animals at home rather than surrendering them. With pet food prices having surged by 45.5% since 2020, we are resolute in addressing this issue, acknowledging the essential role pets play in mental health and overall well-being.

In 2024, we anticipate supporting over 3,000 pets through 1,600 deliveries! While some may contend that individuals in financial distress should not own pets, we firmly believe that challenging circumstances do not diminish one’s ability to care for animals. We collaborate with esteemed partners such as ALERT, The Salvation Army, and the Okanagan Humane Society to bridge the gaps in pet support. Last year alone, we distributed an impressive 25,000 pounds of pet food during wildfires, in addition to providing another 50,000 pounds to pets facing food insecurity in the Okanagan. This year, our goal is to deliver over 100,000 pounds of dry food to furry friends in central and southern Okanagan, particularly in rural areas that are most in need.

However, our mission extends beyond merely supplying pet food. We are dedicated to empowering pet owners encountering financial hardships, working towards building a stronger, happier community in these challenging times.
