Pet Food Assistance Program
By applying for and/or receiving support from Lend A Paw Pet Food Foundation (“Lend A Paw”)
you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms of Service.
1. Program Purpose
Lend A Paw Pet Food Foundation 🐾 exists to provide short-term emergency pet food support to households in the Central and South Okanagan who are experiencing financial hardship, with the goal of helping pets stay fed and remain in their homes. Lend A Paw is a volunteer-run organization and is not government funded.
2. Eligibility
Support is available only for:
• Individuals/households residing within our service area
• Pets who are permanent residents of the household applying for assistance Support is not available for:
• foster animals
• newly acquired pets
• extended family / friends’ pets not permanently residing in the home
• new litters or breeding-related needs
Lend A Paw reserves the right to request clarification or documentation to confirm eligibility.
3. Frequency & Limits Assistance
• Once every 60 days
• Up to six (6) times per calendar year
• Each approved request provides approximately one month of pet food, depending on availability Maximum distribution limits per address:
• Maximum 75 lbs total food
• Maximum 50 lbs chicken-free food (within the 75 lb total)
All support is based on donations and availability. Brands, formulas, and specialty diets cannot be guaranteed.
4. Delivery & Pick-Up
Lend A Paw operates primarily as a delivery-based program.
• Food is delivered to the address provided in the application
• Delivery typically occurs within 7–14 days after approval
While we strive to meet this turnaround, timelines may vary due to volunteer capacity and volume of requests.
Pick-up is not available unless prearranged. We do have a manned location, however support is generally coordinated through delivery unless otherwise arranged. One delivery will be attempted please make sure your address is accurate.
5. Responsible Pet Care
Lend A Paw supports responsible pet ownership and community well-being. By participating in the program, applicants agree that
: • pets receiving support will remain in the home and be cared for responsibly
• spay/neuter is strongly encouraged
• program support is not intended to contribute to new litters
6. Honesty & Program Integrity
Applicants must provide truthful and complete information on all forms and communications. Lend A Paw has a zero-tolerance policy for:
• false information • misrepresentation of household/pet details
• repeated dishonest dealings
ANY MISTREATMENT OF VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
7. No Reselling / Misuse of Supplies Food
Supplies provided by Lend A Paw are intended only for the pets listed in the approved application. The following is strictly prohibited:
• reselling any food or supplies
• intentionally misusing program support
• exploiting the program for personal gain
Sharing supplies in genuine circumstances is understandable — however reselling or dishonest dealings are not permitted.
8. Right to Refuse or End Service
Lend A Paw reserves the right to:
• approve or deny any application at our discretion
• limit service based on availability, eligibility, or program demand
• modify program limits, timelines, or procedures at any time
Failure to abide by these Terms of Service can result in termination of service.
9. Volunteer-Run Organization
Lend A Paw is operated by volunteers and community partners. Response times may vary, and we appreciate patience and kindness toward our volunteer team. Abusive, threatening, harassing, or inappropriate communication toward volunteers will result in immediate termination of support.
10. Changes to Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated at any time to reflect changes in program operations, donation supply, or community need. The most current version will always be posted on our website.
